I was very pleased to see how the stories and lessons blended in such a way to show us, as fathers, that we have such a vital role to play in our children's lives. Jason Pockrandt has done a great job finding diverse life lessons and perspectives to allow Dads of all backgrounds to use these stories to strengthen the lives of our children. Grab a copy, share a copy, and help fatherhood become more powerful than ever.
This book was an awesome compilation of stories from fathers that are in the trenches of raising their daughters. Jason gathers an eclectic group of men to share their experiences, tips and ideas on how to navigate the world of young estrogen. My favorite chapter is Headbutts and Barbie Dolls. Trust me, you are going to want to read this!
This book provides great insight into sound advice and principals needed to raise a daughter/children. The contributor's stories validate that our children's welfare and futures depend highly on the actions we take and commit to (or not) as fathers. The note-taking pages are a bonus, allowing for a father's resource, to revisit day to day when nurturing your children. A great read for all fathers of all ages for any phase of fatherhood. Prepare yourself, or understand how/why things are the way they are today. It's all about the journey.
This book was given to my husband last night after meeting with the author Jason. When my husband came home he handed me this book to look at and instead of admiring the cover and the beautiful autographed inspiration on the front page I instead decided to read it. It took 2 hours and I was moved and changed by the awesome content. Ladies too can gain great insight on the powerful impact a daddy has on their daughter. Jason knows what he is talking about. Having come from a background where his father passed away in a manner that had the potential to destroy a young man. Instead, Jason has chosen to attend to the details that make for a strong father and we are blessed that he has decided to share some of his wisdom with us in this book!
Father-Daughter Conversations is a great collection of thoughts from dads trying to navigate parenthood with their daughters. The stories shared by various authors/fathers provide a real and sometimes raw look at the peaks and valleys of raising girls. I was encouraged and challenged by these stories. The book is an excellent tool for starting discussions with other fathers on the topic of raising daughters. Each chapter has a few questions to get the conversation started.
If you are a father of a daughter, I'd encourage you to pick up a copy of Father-Daughter Conversations.
Loved the book. It is chock full of great insights on raising daughters to become fine young women. Each story is unique and there are conversation starters after each chapter, to help get you thinking and to delve deeper into the topics. A great book for a solo read, or as part of a group with plenty of spaces for discussion.
